Beginning your Spiritual Journey

It is time to begin a new way of thinking about your spirituality.  This is not to discount the way you have believed in the past, but to enhance those beliefs.  As we grow and learn more about spirituality and expand our awareness of what we believe, we start to understand that it is a very personal process that has some commonalities with others, but is unique to us.  Why is that?  It is because what we think and believe about spirituality is based on our history, our teachings, our society, our world in general, and whatever else influences us at the time.  Spirituality is very fluid.  You wouldn't think that it would be, but as you learn more, experience more and mature, your beliefs change.  This is true with everything else in your life, so why wouldn't it be true in relation to your spirituality?

We tend to shy away from our spiritual beliefs changing out of fear.  Fear based on what we have learned and what we think we know about spirit.  If we believe that we are spiritual beings, or at the very least, spiritual believers, then we should be able to evolve and grow continuously within our lifetime.  If you ask those around you it is probably not that uncommon for an individual to have had some kind of spiritual experience in their lifetime.  They may have discounted it, but it probably occurred.  Think about your own life.  Was there ever a time where you felt particularly close and aligned with your own spirit?  Most people discount this experience because they do not know how to recreate it and become discouraged or disillusioned by the experience.  What actually happens is that we get a taste of who we truly are and we want more.  So we meander around going from experience to experience trying to recapture that spirit again when it is already within us and ready for us to connect and reaffirm our existence.

It's time to take charge of your spiritual life and stop waiting for something to happen.  People have written many books on the subject and we read them and then still do nothing.  We feel depressed or anxious and don't know why, yet we still do nothing.  This is a call to do something!  Connecting with your spirit is the one thing that we have complete control over in our lives.  It is the one thing that will align you with your purpose, your authentic self, your ability to have a better more fulfilling life, and so much more!  It's time.  You have tried everything else, and while you continue to struggle spirit continues to dwell within you, waiting.

So, how do you get started?  By setting your intention to allow a fuller spiritual life.  We intent so many things on a daily basis that we don't mean to intend.  For example, we wake up in the morning and decide that this is going to be a crappy day or it's going to be a great day based on how we feel.  If you set your intention to be guided by spirit, then you have set the tone to start your day.  There are also many ways to supplement your spiritual practice.  Yoga, meditation, reading spiritual material, like-minded groups, are all good ways to connect with like-minded people and allow yourself to start to talk about what you believe and learn and grow. Taking care of the body by taking advantage of practices that heal such as; massage, reflexology, chakra balancing, Body Talk, reiki, intuitive healing, lymphatic drainage, astrology, acupuncture, hypnotherapy, aromatherapy, prayer, and other healing practices are great ways to start the process of aligning the body, mind, and spirit.

What are Essential Oils?

How are Essential Oils and Hydrosols made?

Essential Oils and Hydrosols are the byproduct of steam distillation.

Essential oils are highly concentrated substances. One drop of aromatic oil could represent from a twenty pounds of raw material to thousands of pounds of material.

Hydrosols are the water obtained as a result of the steam passing through the raw material. They are affordable, gentle and easy to use.

Expression is used to extract essential oils in large celled structures such as citrus fruit. In this case the rind contains the oil cells.

Enfluerage is the most expensive and time intensive process and is used for expressing oils from flowers.

What is Synthetic Oil?

A synthetic is an artificial fragrance made to duplicate the scent of an essential oil. Synthetics do not have any of the therapeutic properties of essential oils. Most of the average person's exposure to aromatherapy is to a synthetic product.

What is the difference between Organic, Natural and Wildcrafted?

Organically grown plants (free from pesticides or chemical fertilizers) produce essential oils with superior therapeutic qualities. Expect to pay more for "certified organic" essential oils.

A truly natural essential oil product is less processed, pure in essence and possibly made in small quantities in a home setting or on a small farm.

Wildcrafted plants are grown in their natural habitat or ecosystem, far away from any pesticides or artificial fertilizers. This is the most natural growing condition that often yields the finest essential oil.
